What does it mean to become a Certified B Corporation?
Our B Corporation Certification means we have gone through a rigorous vetting process and have enhanced our forward-facing and internal missions to include values held by all B Corporation members: “Using business as a force for good” Meeting the highest standards of overall transparency and social and environmental performance. In short, we’re joining forces with an elite group of companies that represent 130 industries across more than 60 countries, all focused on a single goal - to redefine success in business while balancing profit with purpose.
When we set out to create Switch Engineering, we were laser-focused on our vision - to provide positive, sustainable change for the built world.
B Corp allows us to demonstrate moving toward that vision. Many of our goals are tangible, like our commitment to incorporate measurable sustainable practices into our work.
A few of our goals are more idea-based, but just as impactful. Our commitment to act as a good steward for our planet and a socially conscious partner in the industry is a primary example.
Why did we decide to apply for B Corporation certification?
Some of the very principles on which we built and grew Switch Engineering are aligned with the guiding purposes of the B Corporation mission. “Success” to us and to all Certified B Corporations far exceeds typical business success measures like profitability and sales targets.
Success, to us, is positive, sustainable change for the built world.
We’re successful when we’re focused on improving performance in the construction industry through the use of better collaboration tools and partnerships that incentivize efficiency, rather than waste.
